Muni University has officially commenced its Orientation Week, welcoming hundreds of newly admitted students to the institution as they begin their academic journey for the 2026/2027 Academic Year.
The week-long programme is designed to help freshers transition smoothly into university life by introducing them to the academic environment, campus facilities, student support services, and the values that guide the university community. Orientation programmes are commonly used by universities to familiarize new students with campus resources, academic expectations, registration processes, and student life activities.
The official opening ceremony was held at the University Main Hall and attended by university management, faculty members, student leaders, and representatives from various departments. Speaking during the event, the Vice Chancellor encouraged students to embrace discipline, innovation, and academic excellence throughout their stay at the university.
“University education is not only about acquiring knowledge but also about developing character, leadership, and the skills necessary to contribute positively to society,” he said.
During the orientation week, students will participate in a series of activities including campus tours, academic briefings, ICT training sessions, library orientation, registration support, and meetings with faculty representatives. They will also have the opportunity to learn about student organizations, sports clubs, and community engagement programmes available at the university. These activities reflect the typical objectives of university orientation programmes, which aim to help students settle academically and socially while building connections within the campus community.
The Dean of Students emphasized the importance of attending all orientation sessions, noting that the information shared during the week would help students navigate university systems more effectively.
Student leaders also welcomed the freshers and encouraged them to actively participate in campus life while maintaining high standards of conduct and responsibility.
Many first-year students expressed excitement about joining the university community. Some noted that the orientation sessions had already helped them understand university procedures, locate important facilities, and connect with fellow students from different regions of the country.
The Orientation Week will conclude with a Freshers' Networking and Talent Showcase event, providing students with an opportunity to interact, share experiences, and celebrate the beginning of their university journey.
As lectures are expected to commence next week, university management has urged all students to complete registration and familiarize themselves with their academic schedules before classes begin.
